Travel Information

How to get to Valladolid

Valladolid has good communications with all of Spain's main cities. Communications with Madrid by bus and high speed train are quite frequent and convenient.

By air, you may reach Valladolid flying to Madrid and then catching the high-speed train to Valladolid (approx. 1 hour). All the information on trains Madrid-Valladolid and Valladolid-Madrid can be found at RENFE, but the time-table is only made available three months in advance of the travelling day. It is possible to purchase tickets in advance on this web page.

To take the high speed train Madrid-Valladolid, it is necessary to go from Madrid/Barajas airport to Madrid/Chamartín railway station. This can be done either by train or by underground.

  • by train: take the local ("Cercanías") train line C1 from Madrid/Barajas airport (Terminal T4 rail station) to Chamartín railway station. The local train runs every 30 minutes.
  • by underground: take line 8 (pink) at Madrid/Barajas airport (either at Terminal T4 or Teminal T2 underground station) to Nuevos Ministerios. Then change to line 10 (dark blue) and go north to Chamartín.
